A desiccant is a product or material that can be absorbs moisture from the air, thus reducing the humidity in a controlled environment and thereby protecting goods from moisture damage. Commonly use in containers in order to prevent “Container Rain” from damaging cargos in transits.

“Container Rain” usually causes by humidity in the environment or from the products having moisture content. Due to high fluctuation of temperatures between day and night or when the cargo is shipped from different climate, condensation occurred within the container resulting the “Container Rain”

Cargo desiccants absorb moisture physically by trapping the moisture inside its capillaries or its surface. The trapped moisture are the kept in the desiccant throughout the journey of the cargo thereby protecting it from problem due to moisture like mildew, warpage, corrosion, caking etc.
